THE TINCTURE: Tinctures were first used in ancient Egypt before entering Europe from the 12th century onwards. Right up until the 1970’s tinctures were common until pills and capsules became more popular. They are now enjoying a resurgence in popularity because of their simplicity and relatively few ingredients. Tinctures and usually extract of plant leaves, roots, bark, fruit, seeds and flowers.
